Here Are 7 Proven Strategies to Snap Out of It (Backed by Science, Sass, and Sonia)

F*ck I think I am so done. OOOOOOOOOOOVER IT..!

We’ve all had those days. Today is one for me.

You wake up tired, uninspired, and slightly annoyed for no reason. Your sparkle’s missing. Your motivation packed its bags. Everything feels… blah.

Well, guess what? You’re not broken. You’re human. And this ‘blah’ state? It has a name: languishing—and it’s not where you’re meant to stay.

So, if your vibe’s gone MIA, here’s your no-fluff, science-meets-sass guide to getting it back:

⚡️1. Move That Fabulous Body (Even for 10 Minutes)

No, you don’t need to hit a spin class or climb Everest. Just move. Walk. Dance in the kitchen. Stretch like you’re in a slow-mo yoga ad.

Why? Movement boosts dopamine and serotonin—your brain’s own feel-good pharmacy. It literally changes your state.

💥 Pro tip: Blast your favourite song (mine’s Beyoncé, obviously) and shake the blah off.

🧠 2. Talk to Yourself Like You’re Magic (Because You Are)

Catch that inner critic whispering nonsense like “Why bother?” or “What’s the point?” Tell it: “Thank you for your input. Now sit down.”

Switch the narrative. Try affirmations like:

  • “I’m not stuck, I’m just recharging.”
  • “I can do hard things—and I’ve done them before.”
  • “My mood isn’t permanent, but my power is.”

Rewiring takes repetition. But your brain will listen.

🌞 3. Get Outside. Seriously.

Sunlight = serotonin. Fresh air = clarity. And standing in nature reminds you that the world is bigger than your inbox.

If you can’t escape to the beach, just step outside. Breathe deeply. Stare at the sky. Reset.

🖤 4. Ditch the Doom Scroll

Social media on a “blah” day? Toxic.

You start comparing your messy reality to someone else’s curated highlight reel. That’s a one-way ticket to self-doubt.

Put the phone down. Pick up a journal. Call a real friend. Or do nothing. Your nervous system will thank you.

🧂 5. Sprinkle Joy on Something Ordinary

Blah thrives on monotony. So shake things up.

  • Light a ridiculous candle.
  • Use your fancy mug for boring tea.
  • Wear lipstick to Zoom (even if it’s just you and your cat).

The brain craves novelty. Tiny changes = big impact on mood and motivation.

👯♀️ 6. Connect Like a Human

When you’re low, isolation feels easier—but connection is the cure.

Message someone. Send a voice note. Share a meme. Ask “How are you, really?”

Oxytocin—the bonding hormone—lifts your mood and reminds you that you’re not alone.

🚀 7. Do One Tiny Brave Thing

You don’t need to crush it today. You just need to do one small thing that reminds you who you are.

Send the email. Make the bed. Say no. Say yes. Write the post. Take the first step.

Progress—no matter how small—releases dopamine and reignites your inner fire.

TL;DR? (too long, don’t read)

Feeling blah isn’t failure. It’s feedback.

It means you’re craving alignment, joy, and a little less autopilot. So listen to your body. Soothe your brain. Move your soul. And above all—be kind to yourself.

Because you’ve survived 100% of your worst days.

This one’s just a mood—not a permanent address.

You’ve got this. And I’ve got you.

Now go be brilliant (even if your hair’s in a bun and your motivation’s on strike).
