Hey there,
I want to say something out loud that I think a lot of people are feeling right now. We’re Scared. Let’s Talk About It.
We are afraid. Not in a way that makes the news. In a more steady and quiet way.
The kind that stays in your chest when you: read the news, think about your future, and wonder what will happen next. Living costs. Stress around the world. Separation.
Change is happening too quickly for us to keep up. It’s a lot.
And here’s what most leaders won’t say: Just because you’re a leader doesn’t mean you’re not human.
You feel it too. But this is where being a leader is most important. People don’t need perfect leaders when things are like this. They need real ones.
Leaders who can: bring peace without acting like everything is fine
Tell the truth without causing panic. Give people space without shutting down. This is what I mean by leading in the moment. Because leadership doesn’t fail when it comes to strategy.
It fails sometimes. And what about now? There are many times. What do you do when you feel it too? Not a theory. Not fluff.

Things you can really do.
1. Give it a name (don’t numb it)
Fear gets bigger when you don’t talk about it.
Say it:
“This doesn’t feel right.” “I don’t have all the answers right now.”
That’s not a sign of weakness.
That’s what it means to be a leader.
2. Control yourself before you answer
When you are under a lot of stress, your brain goes into protection mode.
So stop before the meeting, the email, and the choice.
Try this:
In for 4, hold for 4, out for 6.
Even a minute can change your state.
Leaders who are calm make teams that are calm.
3. Pay attention to what you can change
When everything seems huge, overwhelming, and global…
Come back to:
the next talk, the next choice, the next right thing to do
Small, real-life moments build leadership.
4. Send a signal that it’s safe
People are paying more attention to you right now than ever.
Not your words.
Your energy.
Think about:
“Am I making things safer or making more noise?”
Because:
No safety means no thought.
5. Stay in touch (don’t pull away)
When fear rises, a lot of leaders stop talking.
But this is when people need you the most.
Check in.
Say:
“How are you really doing?” “What do you need right now?”
Being connected makes you less afraid. Every time.
6. Be honest, even when it hurts.
Polished leadership makes people feel distant.
Trust is built by honest leadership.
You don’t need to know everything.
But you do need:
👉 clarity,
👉 openness, and
👉 presence
A note for you
You don’t have to be brave. You only need to stay steady. You don’t have to make everything better. You just need to be present in the moment.
That’s what it means to be a leader.
This is exactly why I made WorkSparks.
Because strategy doesn’t break down in leadership.
It falls apart in those little, high-pressure times when:
You’re about to react instead of respond. You don’t know what to say. You’re feeling pressure, emotion, and expectation all at once.
That’s exactly what WorkSparks is for.
The moment before the talk
The moment before the choice
The time when you need to stop and be a good leader
It’s like having a leadership coach in your pocket who helps you think clearly, respond on purpose, and lead with confidence when it matters most.
If you are feeling the pressure of being a leader right now…

Bring this with you today
👉 Stop
👉 Take a breath
👉 Make the next moment a good one
Not perfectly.
Just on purpose.
We can do this.
Not because it’s simple.
But that’s not what leadership is about.
It’s about how we act when things are unclear.
That’s where you are stronger than you think.
